Brandon and Chris--8.2.2013

My uncles Brandon and Chris were married in Montana 10 years ago. I missed that wedding and have regretted it ever since.

When Proposition 8 was defeated in California this summer, they decided to have a courthouse ceremony to make it (finally) legal.

Tears welled up when they asked me to officiate the ceremony. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Here is a little photo story of that day.

A ceremony script was written. (and they trusted me with this!!)

One last chance to back out before we hit the road.

 Secret Service vehicles were rented.

And we took a little drive up the Southern California Coast.

With an obligatory Starbucks stop in Malibu.

Until we landed our stylish selves in Santa Barbara.

 Feeling out the surroundings.

Then we made our way up the bell tower.

And decided the view would do.

So, we went for it. And I cried.

 But then I cheered.

Then we posed and smiled and loved and hugged and celebrated.

And the next day, there was a fabulous fete.

Brandon and Chris, I can't congratulate or thank you enough for this great day. I am so lucky to have been part of it and so blessed to have seen true love.

Cheers.
